We turned National Poetry Day into 'National Poetry Week' in Almond class and had so much fun! On Monday we watched some of our favourite CBBC stars read their favourite poems and also listened to Karl Nova's poem 'See Through My Eyes'. He showed us that using the imagination when writing poetry can take the reader on an enthralling journey.

Following on from this, on Tuesday we listened to our class teacher read us some of his favourite poems from authors such as Benjamin Zephaniah, Tony Charles, John Agard, Carl Sandburg, Roald Dahl and Enid Blyton.

On Wednesday and Thursday we watched Michael Rosen perform his joyful poems 'Chocolate Cake' and 'Down Behind The Dustbin'. We then made our own 'Down Behind The Dustbin' style poems using individual members of the class as our subject matter - this had particularly hilarious results!
