This term Year 3 have been focusing print making using leaves as inspiration. In order to make detailed prints we first made rubbings of leaves and made observational sketches of leaves to look closely at the lines and shapes. We looked at paintings and drawings of leaves by other artists including William Morris. Then we made two different types of prints. First we made a block using a polystyrene tile and made prints from this. Then we made a block from layering sugar paper and adding details. We use mixed blue and yellow paint with the rollers to make green before making our prints.
