This Term Year 1 have been studying Textiles in Art. We explored different textiles and looked at examples of textile art by professional artists such as Jennifer Collier. We then sketched a London skyline and used this as a guide to create a textile collage. The children decided which textiles would work best for each element of the picture. We even began to learn how to sew using a needle and thread! The children showed a huge amount of perseverance with this new skill.
