Year 1 has been learning to multiply! We began by teaching the children how to make equal groups, then worked on adding equal groups through repeated addition. We also explored solving multiplication problems by using arrays in a partner game. The children loved using this method, and it really helps them visualise the concept.
The children have really enjoyed challenging themselves by discussing their reasoning and answering reasoning problems. It is great to see them working together and using their oracy skills to problem solve throughout their maths lessons.
