Design and technology (DT) in year 1 is all about helping children to develop their creativity and problem-solving skills through designing and making their own products. DT encourages children to explore and experiment with materials, tools and techniques to create models, structures and objects. This half term in D&T, we enjoyed using the K’NEX blocks! K'NEX is a popular construction material for children, and is often used in classrooms as a tool for teaching STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) concepts. Building with K'NEX helps children develop spatial reasoning skills, problem-solving skills, and fine motor skills, as well as an understanding of basic engineering principles.
