Councillor Bramble Visit

On the 20th November Councillor Bramble visited Shoreditch Park Primary School. Councillor Bramble is Deputy Mayor of Hackney and works closely with Child Services for Hackney.

Representatives from our Green Team, School Council, Rights Respecting Steering Group and Aspire Ambassadors met Cllr Bramble and took part in a presentation all about our ASPIRE curriculum and Pupil Voice within the school. Every child spoke with confidence, passion and pride. They represented our school wonderfully!

They told Councillor Bramble about their vision for pupil voice in the school and projects they are currently working on. They introduced her to our ASPIRE characters and what they represent. The Rights Respecting steering group discussed children's rights and right for refugees. Councillor Bramble remarked on what skilled public speakers they were. They went on to participate in a question and answer session with the Councillor, where they asked thoughtful and well structured questions about her role in Hackney, opportunities for young people and child refugees. This was a truly wonderful way to acknowledge World Children's Day.

Look out for the December issue of Hackney Today for an article all about this special visit!
