We were focusing on the book Leon and the place between by Graham Baker-Smith in which Leon takes his siblings, who are sceptical about magic,  to the circus.

Whilst at the circus he gets chosen by the enigmatic Abdul-Kazam to participate in a magic trick and suddenly finds himself in the place between. A place of limbo where other magic show participants await to be sent back to real life.

The books setting of the circus provoked plenty of intrigue among the class so we decided to explore the different types of characters you would expect to see at the circus.

We took inspiration from the circus setting and the different types of characters/ performers you would expect to see. We applied this enthusiasm to write a diary entry about going to the circus.
